Faculty

The Ph.D. Programme in Tourism, Economics and Management forms part of the Ph.D. School of the ULPGC and is the result of the collaboration between the University Institute of Sustainable Tourism and Economic Development (TIDES) and the Faculty of Economics, Business and Tourism. The Ph.D. programme will be taught by doctorate teachers with at least six years of recognized researchment, extensive experience and relevant publications in their specialization fields. Around fifty teachers that participate in the three lines of research have directed 55 doctoral theses. They accumulate about 80 six-year periods of research, occupying remarkable positions in the international scientific community of their respective fields. An example of this would be the recognition obtained by TIDES, which has helped the ULPGC to occupy the 4th place in Europe in scientific productivity on Tourism, the 2nd place worldwide on marketing and destination management, the 4th place worldwide on image and brand, and the 1st place in Ibero-America on hospitality.

Internationally recognized researchers will also collaborate in the programme, giving seminars and as directors of doctoral theses. The research groups linked to the programme maintain collaborative academic relations with these researchers.
